About the NGS Foundation

The New Generation Schools (NGS) foundation, funds and manages the establishment of independently run government schools in direct partnership with governments in the developing world. In doing so it delivers truly modern affordable high-quality learning in countries that have historically struggled to build a modern education system. Through partnership and community engagement the NGS programme has proved itself as an educational innovation that is both low cost and sustainable and one that has the potential to radically transform education in the developing world.

At present the NGS foundation only operates directly in S.E. Asia. However it advocates for the establishment of NGS schools in the developing world more broadly. As such the foundation provides technical, political and fund raising support to other NGO’s wishing to emulate the NGS model in their respective countries of operation.

The NGS foundation is a UK registered, international charitable organisation. Though the foundation was established and funded by the Franks Family Foundation (FFF), the intention is for it to be fully independent. The executive team currently includes a number of FFF staffers on secondment but over time it is anticipated that such secondments will not be necessary. At present the NGS foundation is fully funded by the FFF but it is envisaged that the foundation will be financially independent by 2025.
